I am hugely impressed with the activity of salvaging kitchen waste water for irragation undertaken by B-10 residents VK. Can I be provided with some details as to how the same can be implimented in hilly areas of HP; espacially lower hills where water table has dropped drastically due to excessive dry spells.

Thanks alot for your valuable articles. Actually we need it but i want to add that was your survey mentioned that how much water waste by these three groups? And other important thing i thought after read it that how many population of india lived in BPL, APL and High class. So the ratio of wasting water would be same. These point make sense for this survey.

Thank you.
I wish you all success in your projects.

I want to share with you a suprising experience, my wife, my daughter and I experienced.

We were driving around on a dry summer afternoon near the Simcoe Lake. We heard a group playing native drums and other native intruments. We stopped by and enjoyed the music. We learnt they were devotedly playing the music for four hours continuously. We did not notice it started to rain. After the music stopped, the main musician thanked nature for listening to his music and giving rain.

We were moved.

Later, I found an interesting write up on page 118 in "The British Museum encyclopedia of native North America By Rayna Green, Melanie Fernandez". It reads, ". . . Through out centuries people have prayed, sung and danced for rain. For most native people... to bring rain is a sacred duty. . .

He further adds: "An anthropologist asks a Pueblo man why all Pueblo songs, dances, prayers and pots are about rain. He replied that people pray, sing, dance about what they don't have enough of, saying to the antropologist "Why all your songs are about love...."
