The water table in Gurgaon is falling at a rate of 1-1.2 meters annually, plummeting by 16 m. in the last 20 years. Malibu Towne, Gurgaon is a planned colony with a well laid out storm water drainage network that is functional at most points. Based on the direction of flow of water in the storm water drains, flow on the road surface and availability of construction space, 11 sites have been identified for construction of rainwater harvesting structures. All are situated at points along the storm water drain and the roads where the availability of rainwater runoff is likely to be high.
