Vivekananda Camp, Chanakyapuri, is a slum cluster that has approx 500 households. Most of dwellers are daily wage workers who have migrate to Delhi from Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

Getting adequate water is a major problem in this cluster. DJB sends 2-3 tankers daily to cater to their drinking water requirements. For all their other needs, they are totally dependent on groundwater for their daily water requirements. There were 4 bore wells in the area, but two of them have dried up and the yield of the other two is becoming lesser and lesser with each passing month.

A new bore well has been made but like the others so far, this will also dry up soon unless measures for ensuring sustainability through rainwater harvesting and managing demand are put in place
